Where a plant's used oil goes after pickup

Much of the used oil UES collects goes to the UES re-refinery in Peachtree City, Georgia.

There, suitable oil is processed into recovered base oil that can be used to make new lubricants. Water, fuel, additives and other contaminants are separated during processing.

Oil that is not suitable for re-refining may be used as industrial fuel.

What industrial oils does UES collect?

Lubricating oils, hydraulic oils and other industrial oil streams. Unusual or regulated materials are reviewed by the UES Hazardous and Special Waste Division.

Can UES handle hazardous waste from our plant?

Yes. The Hazardous and Special Waste Division handles collection, transportation and management of hazardous, chemical and special wastes. Describe the material and we will confirm how it can be handled.

Can someone look at our separators and sumps before the work starts?

A UES representative can inspect the site by appointment and give you a written evaluation with recommendations. Photos or video can be included when they help.

What paperwork do I get after a pickup?

Each service is recorded with the material, the quantity, the date and the transporter's EPA ID number. Receipts come by email or on paper, and your service history is in the Customer Portal.

What happens to the used oil after pickup?

Much of it goes to the UES re-refinery in Peachtree City, Georgia, where suitable oil is processed into recovered base oil for new lubricants. Oil that cannot be re-refined may be used as industrial fuel.
